Just about a year ago, we launched the MagneticSponsoring.com social community.It’s been quite an interesting little experiment. (That’s the code word for EXPENSIVE)

Turns out that we chose the wrong programming language the first time round (Joomla), and we quickly exceeded it’s ability to keep up with our traffic and desired features within the first 30 days.

The site bogged down and needed constant attention by the design team.

Within a few months we decided to chalk it up as an $80,000+ lesson learned, and start over from scratch. It quickly became the last priority on our list of projects, and simply went into cruise control on it’s own.

Despite the poor performance of the site, and the lack of attention from our team, it served it’s purpose as a launch platform for future “gurus” who had a lot of to offer the industry, but didn’t have the soapbox to shout from.

16,000 users joined without a single penny spent on advertising, and Google adores the website.

Too bad we’re about to throw all of that search engine love out the window…

Now six months later, and another $70,000+, we’re about to relaunch the new and improved version of the site under our new brand, BetterNetworker.com.

We have everything we need to take this thing as big as we can from a technology stand-point, as we’re using the same platform that MTV and other large content networks rely on.

Now it’s time to start the real fun, and see what we can do with this thing from a business standpoint…

The next 6 months will be spent cracking the code when it comes to growing and monetizing a social/content network. Once that’s done we’ll be producing social sites for niches and companies around the world.
