What I find amazing now is when I watch TV I can actually see WHO they are advertising to, what triggers they are using, how they appeal to a certain demographic, why they chose a certain word or words and how they think I fit in there. It is easy for you to manipulate someones thought process by making them hear the message. People are more responsive to what they hear and see. The reason why this allows for easier control is because people do not listen to 90% of what people say. This means their thought process is guided at the subliminal level because even though they are not listening, they are still hearing. It is something else however to grab a readers attention and suck them into a sales letter. People cannot turn off the television or at the very least will not turn off the television as easily as they will hit the exit button on the browser. I am absolutely amazed by some of the copy I read on the Internet. The reason I am so blown away is because it takes more talent to get people to read a sales letter all the way through then it does to get them to not really listen to a newscast but hear it anyway. Those of you who have this ability are a real inspiration to me.
